Celebrating our 30th Anniversary
Thirty years ago, the founders of the Sun Valley Writers’ Conference sat around a kitchen table and dreamt up what would become today’s premier literary conference. Over the last three decades, more than 500 poets, playwrights, historians, novelists, journalists, musicians, and more have graced the stage at SVWC.

Padma Lakshmi is an Emmy-nominated producer, television host, food expert, and a "New York Times" best-selling author, as well as one of "Time Magazine’s" 100 Most Influential People of 2023. You may recognize her as host and executive producer for 19 seasons of Bravo’s two-time Emmy-winning series “Top Chef." She has been a lifelong tastemaker and, this summer, will treat us all to her wit, wisdom, and artful way with words and recipes at #SVWC2024. Lakshmi is a visiting scholar at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and she also graced the pages of Sports Illustrated Magazine’s Swimsuit Edition in 2023.
