Media Policy

The tone of the conference is lively, honest and reflective. The remarkable trust between speakers and attendees is reflected in open conversations throughout the event. This trusting environment is enhanced by the absence of commercialism and press.

We are committed to maintaining an intimate environment that will benefit both the presenters and the attendees; however, given the fact that we live in a free society in which iPhones are ubiquitous, public sessions should be considered open to the press and on the record. We sell CDs and flash drives recorded from the writers’ talks, but only with the speaker’s approval.

Should an interview be requested, our staff will try to arrange that interview off-site and during a time when there is no conflicting conference activity. To this end, we encourage all such requests and inquiries to be directed to Carrie Lightner at who will coordinate this activity.

If a presenter would like the audience to refrain from taking photos and/or using social media during the talk, we will make an announcement from the stage.
