Firoozeh Dumas

Firoozeh Dumas is an award-winning humorist and The New York Times bestselling author of Funny in Farsi, Laughing without an Accent and It Ain’t So Awful, Falafel. Her books are bestsellers in her native Iran and excerpts from Funny in Farsi line the walls of the Tehran subway cars. She has been a guest at the White House, a clue on Jeopardy ($800, not a cheap one) and an essay question on AP exams and the SATs. Her books are used in schools across the country.

Although she is known as a humorist, her latest work, Sob, is a one-hour audio story about the worst year of her life, 2022. Sob, which will be released on Audible.com in late April, chronicles her journey through a year of intense grief. It is a story of heartbreak, hope, and unexpected miracles that will leave you spellbound. Firoozeh considers this her most important work.
