LINDA SPALDING, a Kansas-born Canadian fiction and nonfiction writer, is the author of the recently published novel, A RECKONING. Winner of the Canadian Governor General’s Literary Award for her 2013 novel, THE PURCHASE, Spalding’s earlier novels include THE PAPER WIFE, DAUGHTERS OF CAPTAIN COOK, and MERE. Her nonfiction titles include A DARK PLACE IN THE JUNGLE, THE FOLLOW―shortlisted for the Trillium Book Award and the Pearson Writers’ Trust Nonfiction Prize―and WHO NAMED THE KNIFE, which was developed into a television movie, OF MURDER AND MEMORY. Editor of Brick, A Literary Journal for several years, Spalding has been awarded the Harbourfront Festival prize for her contribution to the Canadian literary community.
