SVWC is pleased to offer a limited number of scholarships to aspiring writers. Six scholarships are provided each year to the Fulfillment Fund, a Los Angeles-based organization that mentors young people of exceptional promise. A number of local scholarships have also been provided by individuals in memory of loved ones and we are proud to celebrate their lives in this way.

And, as part of the SVWC Eye on the Future Project, our local schools outreach program, several scholarships are awarded annually to high school students in the Wood River Valley.

The conference has proven to be a rich literary experience that we would like to share with our country’s finest emerging writers, those who are past the beginning, but have not yet reached the acknowledged high point of their writing careers. Each year the SVWC selection committee chooses young writers of exceptional promise from both the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and the Boise State University MFA program to attend the conference.
