Our Community Scholars Student/Author Luncheon is a collaboration between Sun Valley Writers’ Conference and the local high schools, offering students the opportunity to engage directly with an author from the Conference each year. Past authors in the program have included Dave Eggers (The Circle), Colson Whitehead (The Underground Railroad), and Karan Mahajan (The Association of Small Bombs).

This year, on July 17, local high school Language Arts students will get to sit down to a private luncheon with Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Anthony Doerr. SVWC has donated copies of his latest novel, Cloud Cuckoo Land, for spring/summer reading. Students are also invited to come to his Pavilion presentation on July 16.
