Dave Barry

DAVE BARRY is a Pulitzer Prize-winning humorist. For many years, he wrote a newspaper column that appeared in more than 500 newspapers. Barry has written many popular books, including Lessons from Lucy and the novels Swamp Story, Big Trouble, Lunatics, Tricky Business, and Insane City. Two of his books were the basis for the CBS sitcom Dave’s World. With co-author Ridley Pearson, Barry wrote the young-adult series of Starcatchers novels. Rick Elice adapted the first book as a Broadway play, Peter and the Starcatcher, which won five Tony Awards. Barry’s memoir, Class Clown: The Memoirs of a Professional Wiseass: How I Went 77 Years Without Growing Up, was published in May. He plays guitar in the Rock Bottom Remainders, a barely competent rock band made up of authors, sometimes including Stephen King. These days Barry writes columns on Substack, creatively named Dave Barry’s Substack. He lives in Florida and likes it there despite what everybody says.
