FREE Community Speaker Series | July 2025
Por: SVWC
Join us in July for these free evening talks with Ruth Reichl & Sonia Purnell!
Since 2017, the Sun Valley Writers’ Conference (SVWC) has partnered with The Community Library in Ketchum to host free literary lectures for the local community. These talks are free and open to the public, bringing our country’s brightest minds directly to the Wood River Valley. Past presenters include Judy Blume, Imbolo Mbue, Erich Schwartzel, Ayad Akhtar, Tobias Wolff, Susan Orlean, and many more.
This year, we are excited to announce our 2025 July speakers—food critic and writer Ruth Reichl on Wednesday, July 16 and journalist, broadcaster, and inspirational speaker Sonia Purnell on Tuesday, July 22.
All talks will be held at 5:30 pm in The Community Library Lecture Hall with book signings to follow. Books will be available to purchase on-site. All talks are free, but registration is required due to limited seating—registration will open 9am May 5, 2025 at The Community Library website. Talks can fill up quickly, sometimes within minutes, so we recommend marking your calendar!
Be sure to check back soon or sign up for our email newsletter to receive important updates and information about these events. If you can’t join us in person, you can livestream the events at comlib.org (pending author permissions). We hope to see you there!
