Sun PM Breakout #4: WE CANNOT LOOK AWAY
By: Carrie Lightner
According to the United Nations, there are now 110 million people on the move around the globe as a result of conflict or disaster. They have been forced to relocate, leaving their homes and often their countries. It is an extraordinary number, one destined to grow. We are reminded by DAVID MILIBAND, President and CEO of the global relief organization the International Rescue Committee (IRC), that there is much work to be done—that can and must be done—to help the displaced find ways to survive and start new lives. That is his life’s work and passion. In conversation with Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times journalist ANDREA ELLIOTT, Miliband will share remarkable stories of resilience and hope and what we all can do to make a difference.
