SAT First Breakouts – Session #3: A MEMOIR OF INDIGENOUS SURVIVAL AND LOVE

By:

With his first book, We Survived the Night, writer and filmmaker JULIAN BRAVE NOISECAT introduces us to an important and original new voice. The book, a blend of memoir, journalism, and folktales, weaves a narrative of Indigenous survival with a deeply moving father-son story. It has a marvelous, fierce, and tender heart. NoiseCat’s debut documentary Sugarcane was nominated for an Oscar, making him the first filmmaker indigenous to North America nominated for an Academy Award. He will talk with MARTHA WILLIAMS of The Community Library in Ketchum, about his memoir and about his dual passions for art and activism.
