SVWC is committed to the safety and well-being of those in attendance–writers, attendees, staff, volunteers, and the community.
MEDICAL STAFF
We are pleased to have Dr. Judith S. Currier as our medical consultant. Dr. Currier is Professor of Medicine and Executive Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Medicine at UCLA, where she served as the Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases for the past 13 years. In addition, Dr. Ricardo Delgado, who has a local practice, will also be in attendance.
COVID-19 POLICY
Although COVID-19 continues to be a fluid situation, we will not require proof of vaccination. Masks and tests will be available upon request. We ask that you please be considerate of others and not attend events if you have symptoms and/or test positive for COVID-19.
Grounded in our current understanding of SARS-COV-2 transmission, our COVID-19 Protocol Plan is informed by guidance and policies from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the South Central Public Health District of Idaho (SCPHD), the cities of Ketchum and Sun Valley, and the Sun Valley Resort.

SAFETY & SECURITY ON-SITE
For many years, Idaho Security Group (ISG), a local Wood River Valley-based organization, has provided physical security services for several events in the Sun Valley area, including the Sun Valley Writers’ Conference. They have extensive experience in planning and executing security plans for high-profile events. The ISG team is led by a 40-year veteran of law enforcement in Sun Valley, along with off-duty officers from around the State of Idaho. With SVWC’s established communication/emergency plan and ISG’s presence on the premises for the duration of the event, all presenters, guests, and attendees can enjoy the Conference in a safe environment. ISG employs a full-time attending EMT who will liaison with SVWC’s two attending medical professionals.
