David Eagleman
What makes us human—and how might technology change the answer? Neuroscientist David Eagleman asks the important questions at the mysterious intersection of the brain, perception, creativity, and human experience. An adjunct professor at Stanford University and Guggenheim Fellow, Eagleman studies brain plasticity, sensory substitution, time perception, synesthesia, and the interplay of neuroscience and law. He is the internationally bestselling author of books including Livewired, Incognito, The Brain, and The Runaway Species, and the writer and presenter of the Emmy-nominated PBS/BBC series The Brain. He also hosts Inner Cosmos, a top-ranked science podcast, and has launched several neuroscience companies from his research. At SVWC Winter, Eagleman brings a neuroscientist’s perspective to one of the central questions of our theme: what remains distinctly human in a world increasingly shaped by technology and AI?
