Griffin Dunne

GRIFFIN DUNNE has been an actor, producer, and director since the late 1970s. He made his directorial debut in 1995 with the Oscar-nominated short film Duke of Groove. Dunne produced and acted in After Hours, directed Practical Magic, and produced and directed the documentary The Center Will Not Hold about his aunt, Joan Didion. He starred in the 2023 film Ex-Husbands. Dunne is the author of The Friday Afternoon Club: A Family Memoir, a 2024 Amazon Editors’ Pick for Best Biography and Memoir, nominee for Good Reads 2024 Favorite Memoir, and named the Best Book of the Year by TIME, NPR, People Magazine, Town & Country, and Air Mail. Dunne and his dog, Mary, live in the East Village of Manhattan.
