At the Sun Valley Writers’ Conference, accessibility is at the heart of our work. We are deeply committed to serving the Wood River Valley community—especially our students, teachers, librarians, and educators—and to ensuring that anyone who loves literature can be part of this experience. Each year, demand far exceeds the capacity of our venues, and Full Conference Passes often sell out quickly. We also recognize that the cost of a full pass can be a meaningful investment, and for some, simply out of reach. That’s why we’ve created many different ways to engage with SVWC—both in person and online—so that cost or capacity never has to be a barrier to belonging.

With so many ways to participate, it can be hard to know which option is right for you. Here’s a guide to our community offerings to help you decide how you’d like to join us.

At A Glance

Special Series Pavilion Passes

• What they are: A curated series of Pavilion talks featuring some of the Writers’ Conference’s most anticipated speakers. These passes provide access to a selection of main stage events without requiring a Full Conference Pass.
• Where: Sun Valley Pavilion
• When: July 18–20 during the Conference
• Best for: Experiencing in-person events at the Pavilion at a lower price point
• Cost:
  • $50 for a Single Talk Pass
  • $100 — Two-Talk Series Pass
  • $150 — Three-Talk Series Pass
• On sale: June 2 at svwc.com/pavilion-pass.

Live Watch Party

• What it is: A large-screen simulcast of select Pavilion talks, allowing audiences to experience the conversations in real time in a group theater setting.
• Where: The Argyros in downtown Ketchum
• When: July 18–20 during the Conference
• Best for:
  • Experiencing the talks with fellow attendees in a communal environment
  • Anyone with ADA requirements
• Cost: Passes $25 per day
• On sale: June 23

Community Speaker Series

• What it is: Free public talks and conversations presented in partnership with The Community Library, featuring authors from the Conference lineup.
• Where: The Community Library
• When: Throughout the year and during Conference week
• Best for: Intimate author events in a smaller setting
• Cost: Free (advanced registration required at svwc.com/community-speaker-series)

Pavilion Lawn Talks

• What they are: Select Pavilion talks broadcast live to the lawn outside the Pavilion, allowing more people to listen in a relaxed outdoor setting.
• Where: Sun Valley Pavilion Lawn
• When: July 18–20 during the Conference
• Best for: Casual outdoor listening and enjoying the atmosphere
• Cost: Free

Livestreaming

• What it is: Free livestream access to select talks so audiences around the world can tune in in real time.
• Where: Online
• When: During the Conference
• Best for: Those unable to attend in person
• Cost: Free

Digital Media Library

• What it is: A growing archive of past Sun Valley Writers’ Conference talks and conversations available to watch anytime.
